Step One
Start by tearing your paper into strips. I did it here with the white center exposed by pulling up, away from the front of the paper while tearing, this exposes the white center. When covering a small pumpkin, one piece of 12 x 12 paper is plenty. If using a larger foam pumpkin, you may want to have more than one matching sheet available.
Step Two
Begin by mod podging the paper all the way around the pumpkin. I ran the paper in vertical strips so it represented the natural stripes or ridges in a pumpkin. Using a paint brush, apply the mod podge to the pumpkin first and then keep applying to the paper as you press the paper against the foam pumpkin. Working out any bubbles and making sure all edges are glued down. Do this step gently, you don’t want brush the paper too much or too hard, it could tear the paper and/or remove the color/pattern from the paper.
Let the paper dry completely before moving on to the next step.
Step Three
Lastly, add a stick for the stem. You can hot glue it into place so it does not move. Then add any ribbons or bows you would like to add color, and texture to the top of the pumpkin.
Get creative, make it your own, and most of all: HAVE FUN!!!
