Affiliate links are included within this post for your convenience. There is also a video tutorial below for more detailed information and to follow along when you create this project at home!
Step One
Find any foam pumpkins you can as you are bargain hunting throughout the year. It is ok if they are jack-o-lanterns or painted pumpkins, they will be covered so it really doesn’t matter how ‘ugly’ they are before we get started! They also sell foam pumpkins at most Dollar Stores in the fall.
Step Two
There are two different ways in this video for covering a foam pumpkin with sweater material. One is to cut a hole in the top center of the pumpkin and wrap the entire piece of sweater around the pumpkin and tuck in at the top. The other option is to cut your sweater or scrap fabric into thin strips and then hot glue each piece onto the foam pumpkin vertically.
Step Three
Lastly, add a stick to the top and any additional leaves or fall sprigs to give your pumpkin dimension and height. Get creative, make it your own, and most of all: HAVE FUN!!!
We would love to see your finished pumpkins! Please feel free to share photos with us on our social media platforms below.
